"In 2013, the Toronto couple fell in love with this sustainable home on the Bay of Quinte. Originally designed by architect Martin Liefhebber, the home was built with a green roof, straw-bale walls, radiant in-floor heating, and a delicate cedar trellis leading to a star-gazing roof deck. After having two children there was a need to create more gathering spaces to enjoy time outdoors with family and friends, in all seasons. Thus, in 2021, the exterior landscape was reinvented by architect Brian O’Brian. The dining pavilion, fire pit living space, water deck, and dock were added between the home and the bay. These additions pay close attention to the original philosophies of the home and its natural surroundings. The dining pavilion has a living green roof to match the home, the fire pit is built with local flagstone, and the water deck is visually fractured to mimic the natural stonework of the shoreline. These spaces make for a cohesive story along with the home."

“Brooke was a pleasure to work with from start to end. She is professional and excellent with communication which made dealing with her very easy. We had extensive discussions about the architectural and lifestyle esthetics for the brand of our short-term accommodation and she actively listened. Before this opportunity, I was shooting photos myself and struggled with telling a cohesive story. She was able to bring all the elements together through her photography. She adds a personal lifestyle touch so that guests can imagine their stay just by looking at the photos. She was even able to present our place as even more special than the way we see it.
